Tantora Catappa Product Range

Tantora offers four types of Catappa-based products:

  • Catappa Leaves (available in 3 sizes: Nano, M, and XL)
  • Catappa Leaf Tea Bags
  • Catappa Bark
  • Catappa Logs

Each product is carefully developed to suit specific aquarium needs and deliver natural benefits to aquatic life.

Benefits of Catappa Leaves

  • Reduces stress in fish and shrimp — a major cause of high mortality in aquariums.
  • Mimics natural habitat — creating an environment closer to their native ecosystem.
  • Rich in tannins — offering natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, which help prevent infections and improve health.
  • Stimulates reproduction — enhancing breeding rates in shrimp and fish.

Thanks to these numerous benefits, Tantora Catappa products are trusted by aquarium hobbyists worldwide. Our 100% organic products have been well-known in European and U.S. markets for over 10 years and are highly regarded among the shrimp and fish breeding communities.

What Makes a Good Catappa Leaf for Aquarium Use?

  1. Sourced away from polluted areas — Leaves collected near big cities may contain pollutants. A quick test: rub the leaf surface; black residue indicates contamination.
  2. Naturally fallen leaves only — Never plucked from the tree. Quality leaves are red, yellow, or brown (rich in tannins). Green leaves are not suitable for aquarium use.
  3. Free from fungus spots — Spots indicate the leaves were left too long on the ground before collection, compromising quality.

Why Choose Tantora Catappa Leaves?
  1. Leaves are collected within 24 hours of falling.
  2. Hand-cleaned to ensure they are free from dust and pollutants.
  3. Carefully inspected to ensure no fungus spots.
  4. Flat and easy to store — ideal for bulk handling and distribution.

Each leaf is processed through a hygienic and eco-friendly method. Only smooth, unbroken leaves are selected to ensure consistent premium quality.

 Available Sizes & Usage
  • Size Nano – Ideal for small tanks.
Recommended dosage: 1 leaf per 10–15 liters of water
  • Size M (4”–7”) – Best for medium tanks.
Recommended dosage: 1 leaf per 30 liters of water
  • Size XL (7”–12”) – Perfect for large tanks.
Recommended dosage: 1 leaf per 50 liters of water

Instructions for Use

Choose the appropriate leaf size based on your tank’s size and water volume. After placing the leaf into the tank:

  • It will slowly release beneficial substances into the water.
  • The water will gradually turn yellow to light brown.
  • The leaf will sink within 24 hours and soften in a few days — becoming a nutritious food source for shrimp and fish.

Replace the leaf every 7–14 days.

Tip for Shrimp Breeders

If you want to feed Catappa leaves to shrimp without tinting the water, try boiling the leaves for 10–20 minutes before placing them in the tank.
